Discovering Herbal Infused Oils

Working with essential oils was just the beginning. The first thing I did was to look for a plant-based carrier oil. I started with jojoba as a natural oil, blending and testing, just enjoying the process.

Jojoba comes from the seeds of a desert plant, and what makes it unique is that it is actually a liquid wax, very close to the skin’s natural oils. Because of that, it is lightweight, absorbs easily, does not clog pores, and works well for a wide range of skin types.

The more I worked with it, the more curious I became about the properties and benefits of other natural oils for topical use. I wanted to understand how to use plants and minerals for natural care so I could minimize artificial ingredients. I knew this planet was designed with everything we need for complete wellness and care, and that man-made ingredients were not always necessary.

As I continued experimenting with custom aroma blends, I found myself wanting to dive deeper into herbalism.

I became interested in how plants and minerals could be used for simple, natural care. I wanted to rely less on synthetic ingredients and more on what felt natural, intentional and grounded.

That is when I discovered herbal infused oils.

The idea was simple. Whole herbs slowly steeping in oil, transferring their properties over time to an oil that carries them.

This was the discovery I had been looking for.

Just oil, herbs, and time. A natural merging and blending. No rushing. No forcing anything.

Why I choose Calendula

I needed to find out which herbs to experiment with, and calendula stood out right away.

It is widely known for being gentle and soothing to the skin, supporting irritation, dryness, and overall skin health in a very balanced way.

Nothing harsh. Nothing aggressive. Gentle and effective, exactly what I was looking for.

That slow, supportive approach felt exactly right to me.

When I first started talking about calendula, most people did not know which flower I was referring to.

Turns out I was pronouncing it wrong!

I was saying cal-en-doo-lah, but later learned it is pronounced kuh-lend-you-lah ( Listen here )

I will admit, I had to hear it several times before I could say it correctly.

Now it rolls off my tongue. I feel like an insider now.

Over time, I realized more people were familiar with it than I expected, especially in clean beauty.

That was something I did not know in the beginning. It just unfolded naturally.

The shift to formulation

My first calendula infusion shifted everything, from scent to real plant power.

I mixed herbs, tested combos, then wondered: What can I make with these lovely herbal infused oils?

That is where things started to shift, and a light bulb came on.

Those small experiments grew into more intentional formulations, and that became the beginning of my line.

Stay tuned for the herbs behind it all.
